Enrichment for K-3:
Robinson Elementary Education Foundation, Inc. is providing funding to bring a music enrichment program to students in grades K-3 at Robinson Elementary school for half of the 2008-2009 school year. Our goal is to be able to also provide funding for the second half of the year as well. Introduction: "My name is Sue Christman-Morris (Mrs. Morris), and I will be teaching music in Grades K-3. My musical background is professional choral singing. I have sung with the Los Angeles Master Chorale and the Pacific Chorale, and I am a church musician. My hobbies are singing, sailing, bicycling, playing bridge, getting together with family, traveling, and gardening. I am also a computer programmer and web designer. I live in Mission Viejo with my husband, our son, and Orbit, the wonder dog." Our Goal. The goal of our music enrichment program is to introduce our students to music using active participation. We hope to show your children that music is fun and brings a delight and richness to life. Each class will have music time for 30 minutes a week. Our children will be introduced to the following elements of music: rhythm, pitch, melody, harmony, timbre, dynamics, meter, tempo. The musicians in each class will give performances during the year for parents and families.
K-3: Finding the beat, moving to the beat, playing percussion instruments in time with the beat, singing in unison, reading simple rhythm patterns.
